Of Note

  • This darling party dress is the epitome of a Good rating: wearable, but with flaws, small holes, and a couple spots. Many of these issues are detailed in the images below.
  • Crepe is a very delicate fabric and over the years this little baby has accrued a number of small pin-sized holes, with the one exception being a 3/4" hole in the left armpit area, noted in a picture below. The taffeta, the skeleton of the dress, is totally intact.
  • There are two small spots, approximately 1/2" in size, on the front of the dress. One is slightly above the bodice detail and the other near the left knee area. When the dress is worn, they are not terrifically visible. I caught them under the bright shooting lights.
  • The back zipper, near the "belt" detail, opens slightly when worn.
  • So, on the whole, this baby has a few issues, but is priced accordingly. With a little tlc and understanding, you can have a Mad Men look for less!

Rating System

Vintage clothing is loved clothing. Sometimes the lives of our pieces have been exquisite, with great care taken to maintain their fabric, shape, and overall condition. In other cases, garments may have been somewhat less well-preserved, resulting in minor flaws, such as discoloration, staining, and/or tears.

Whatever the condition, we want you to know it thoroughly.

To that end, the Reel Vintage rating system, based on an industry standard, is designed to give you as much information as possible before purchasing your next new-favorite vintage item.

  • Mint: The item has never been worn or shows virtually no signs of wear. Rare and pristine.
  • Near Mint: The item shows only light wear, with no blemishes.
  • Excellent: The item is structurally intact and shows some wear, but has no blemishes.
  • Very Good: The item shows wear and has some blemishes, such as light staining and/or minor flaws.
  • Good: The item is wearable, but may shows signs of deterioration (staining, non-seam rips, etc.).

We are always available to our clients for questions and encourage you to contact us. We'll do our best to respond to your email within 24 hours.
