Please scroll down for additional images of the 1960s Jennifer North Geo Print Pantsuit.

Inspired by: Valley of the Dolls (1967).

Circa: 1960s.

Material: No tag, but I venture the suit is made of rayon with a polyester blend for the black bodice.

Colors: Black and white with an iridescent band across the waist.

Closure: Single back zipper with a metal hook and thread eye.

Label: Not label, handmade.

Measurements:

  • Bust: 34"
  • Waist: 26"
  • Hips: 34"
  • Inseam: 22.5"
  • Length: 56"
  • Bell width: 25"

Condition: Very Good.

Of Note

  • Given the fabulous, wild print, all of the to-be mentioned flaws are significantly harder to see than if the piece were solid. However, there a few issues that I want to be sure to draw your attention to. Some of the pictures below detail the flaws, as well.
  • Right leg: grouping of small 1/8" spots near the front thigh, two thin, small black marks along the back upper thigh, and a small fabric snag on the back of the right leg, near the outer knee area.
  • Left leg: two 1/4" spots near the back band area, two small black marks along the thigh, and one very small spot near the ankle.
  • Due to the sound structure this suit, despite the noted flaws, I have rated it Very Good; however, it is priced according to a Good rating since, no matter how hard to see, spots are spots.

Rating System

Vintage clothing is loved clothing. Sometimes the lives of our pieces have been exquisite, with great care taken to maintain their fabric, shape, and overall condition. In other cases, garments may have been somewhat less well-preserved, resulting in minor flaws, such as discoloration, staining, and/or tears.

Whatever the condition, we want you to know it thoroughly.

To that end, the Reel Vintage rating system, based on an industry standard, is designed to give you as much information as possible before purchasing your item(s).

  • Mint: The item has never been worn or shows virtually no signs of wear. Rare and pristine.
  • Near Mint: The item shows only light wear, with no blemishes.
  • Excellent: The item is structurally intact and shows some wear, but has no blemishes.
  • Very Good: The item shows wear and has some blemishes, such as light staining and/or minor flaws.
  • Good: The item is wearable, but may shows signs of deterioration (staining, non-seam rips, etc.).
